Winters leaving
With the sunshine arriving more often it’s time to get Old Red ready for the off. We have done a little bit of work on her during the cold season. Redecorated and extra storage making things a little easier. Ziggy is growing up fast and to date still has an EU passport. Apparently, these are like gold dust, so our 1st trip in Red will be into Europe to keep this document validated. Ziggy went to puppy classes, a total waste of time, he can still be very naughty and mindful. However, he is walking better on the lead and loves to run. Debi is just about getting a response from him when off the lead, but his command to return is not always obeyed. At home and with us he is well behaved but gets very excited when we have guests. Still work to do on that front.
Re-starting The Supper Club adventure
We have also reinstated our supper club. We started this two years ago and were almost immediately locked down due to COVID. I will be posting a separate post for Bring Back Vinyl Supper Club. The premise is that we feed our guests a 5-course meal whilst playing their (or our) old LPs. It seems to be working very well, we have already had a couple of Moroccan and Eastern European evenings, and the next theme will be Italy.
We have had 2 short journeys during the winter. one trip was to the Railway Inn on Balsall Common near Coventry. My friend Alex was playing a gig there. We asked the landlord if we could park Old Red on their car park. As we were drinking in the pub there was no problem. It is definitely worth checking out pub parking on your travels. I joined this Facebook group about pub stopovers for Campervans and small Motorhomes. I find it very useful when planning a trip. The 2nd trip was a visit to Shropshire, ostensibly to visit my daughter who lives in Telford. We took Ziggy on a long walk along a disused railway line. It is a very scenic route into the town centre, through the woods and past a couple of landmarks. The other direction takes walkers to Iron Bridge.
Stay tuned for our Supper Club posts.
