Well, we’ve been dormant for far too long now. So as we are able to travel, at least within the UK, it’s time to hit the road and start blogging again. We have done a fair bit of work on Old Red, mainly on the inside, some trim, wiring and a small redesign on the storage compartments. She is going to the bodyshop this week for a couple of small jobs and, as you can see the Decal is looking good. So should be ready to rock and roll by the beginning of July.

Our first trip will be a trial run to the east coast, just overnight. I have joined a few Facebook groups which I can highly recommend. The first one is Small Vehicle Campers. Full of information from Insurance thru to great ideas for vans and wonderful places to visit. Another group is UK Pub stopovers for motorhomes and campervans This group discusses pub car parks for overnight stays. The idea is that you eat and drink in the pub in return for free stopovers. Some even offer full campsite facilities. It’s ideal for us as it’s a great way of finding new food and ideas for our Supper Club. I’ll tell you all about that in another blog. For now tho, take a look at these groups, I know you’ll love them.

Our 1st big trip is to Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. On route, we will be stopping at Ullswater in the lake district, Birdoswald Roman Fort on Hadrian’s wall. Then a drive up to Loch Eck on the Dunoon rd. We want to have a look at Loch Fyne Oyster Farm and will stay nearby. We have a full anti-Midge kit. Here is Debi test driving part of it. We also have some Smidge (other deterrents are available), and some Bug Zappers and lanterns.

Haha, hopefully these nets will save us from any Midge onslaught. People may look at us strangely, but who cares. We will put up a new Blog after every stopover. Please follow us on our map. Check-in again soon, for Part 2 of our series; Earning a Pittance whilst on the road.
