Back to The 70’s
We like to keep everybody updated about what is happening at the Supper club, so here we go:
Let’s talk retro nights, they are always successful and good fun, so we will be planning some more of these in June. This will include a selection of entrees and a twist on Chicken in a basket, Prawn Cocktail, and Cheesecake. A Black Forest Gateau seems obligatory for dessert. Below you will find dates for these fun nights.
America here we come
As you probably know, Debi and I are heading to America next month. We will be following the music and food from New York down to Memphis and then onto New Orleans. We will be searching out new ideas for the Supper Club along the way. So on our return, we will have some ideas for American Diner menus along with some Cajun and Creole recipes. We leave on 16th May and return on Debi’s birthday at the end of May. The first stop is The Big Apple.
New Orleans
After a short stay in Memphis, we head off to The Big Easy aka New Orleans. The food here is exciting. influences from the French with the Cajun cuisines and the local mixture of various Creole dishes make my mouth water. I can’t wait to get stuck into Jambalaya, Gumbo, and one or two sweet Bienets from the french market. Following the music we get a cacophony of sound from the bars flowing out onto the street makes for a great atmosphere.
On our return
We won’t be having a Supper Club on the 4th of June but starting from the 7th we would like to have Supper Club evenings on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays and Saturdays of each month. This will make it easier to plan ahead, as we know you all have busy lives.
So our summer season will look something like this: Tuesday 7th and Tuesday 21st June will be 70’s Retro Nights, as will Saturday the 18th. The menus for these nights will be interchangeable of course. July will be North American themes, So 2 nights American Diner/Barbeque, and 2 nights Cajun/Creole. August will be a Chinese feast and in September we’ll head back to Northern Italy.
